ADMITTED STUDENTS

Because LSU Health Shreveport does not provide student housing, incoming students are responsible for securing their own accommodations. To assist with this process, the Student Admissions Office provides resources to help students choose housing options that best fit their needs, including the opportunity to connect with potential roommates.

Students are not responsible for self-registering for courses; instead, the Registrar's Office will handle their enrollment each semester. The Registrar's website provides the academic calendar, including essential dates. First-year students should adhere to the session 1 dates.

Prior to the first semester, incoming students will receive a comprehensive list of required books and supplies from their program director. Incoming students must also procure a wireless internet-capable laptop computer that meets the School’s minimum requirements for use throughout their matriculation at the LSU Health Shreveport. Please note that specific hardware and software requirements may apply to individual programs. Microsoft 365, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, is available to students at LSU Health Shreveport free of charge. Students can install Microsoft 365 by signing in with their LSUHS.edu email accounts.

The Bursar’s Office issues tuition and fee invoices to students via their lsuhs email accounts each academic term. Tuition and fees must be paid by the due date indicated on the invoice. The final payment deadline is the 7th day of summer semester and the 14th day of fall/spring semester. The Student Financial Aid Office is responsible for assisting students in securing financial resources to support their education. They provide information and guidance regarding scholarships, grants, and loans. The Office evaluates student eligibility for various forms of financial aid, processes applications, and disburses funds to eligible recipients. Additionally, they offer counseling services to help students understand their financial aid options, manage their budgets, and navigate the financial aspects of their education. Prior to registration, incoming students are assigned a provisional admission status until meeting the conditions outlined in the acceptance letter and completing pre-matriculation requirements set forth by the Registrar’s Office. Failure to complete requirements in a timely manner will prevent registration and may result in revocation of the offer of acceptance. As part of the pre-matriculation requirements, students are required to pass a drug screen and criminal background check prior to matriculation. Offers of acceptance are contingent on passing both.

Accepted students must certify that they meet the technical standards established by the program with or without reasonable accommodations.
