THE REHABILITATION CLINIC

The Rehabilitation Faculty Clinic at LSU Health Shreveport School of Health Professions and Sciences is one of the most modern outpatient rehabilitation centers in the Ark-La-Tex providing the citizens of Northwest Louisiana with quality rehabilitative care by therapists who are experts in their fields, possessing board certification in various specialty areas. The Rehabilitation Faculty Clinic provides physical, occupational, and speech-language therapy to children and adults with orthopedic, neurological, and wound conditions.

Physical Therapy

Seeing a physical therapist is the key to recovery for people who are recuperating from injuries, illnesses, or surgery. Physical therapists help individuals regain strength, mobility, balance, coordination, manage pain, and much more. Our physical therapists are advanced specialty certified and are considered experts in their respective fields.

Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapy assists people to regain function resulting from physical and/or cognitive impairments. Occupational therapists work with adults and children to address daily challenges related to self-care, school, work, and household management activities while providing adaptations as needed to promote independence with daily task performance.

Bike Fit

Bike Fit

Bike fitting with a physical therapist involves a musculoskeletal and biomechanical assessment of your movements as a cyclist and your position on the bicycle. A bike fit is helpful if you are having pain while riding, or if you would like to improve your comfort and efficiency while cycling. We may make adjustments to your bicycle and/or prescribe physical therapy interventions to meet your cycling goals.

VO2 Max testing measures aerobic fitness and cardiovascular performance, making it ideal for athletes, fitness enthusiasts, and anyone looking to improve endurance or track fitness progress. Bod Pod testing provides accurate body composition analysis, including body fat percentage and lean body mass.”

Do I need a physician referral for therapy services?

Occupational Therapists and Speech Language Pathologists require a physician referral in order to initiate care.

Physical therapists do not need a physician referral to initiate care. However, some insurances may not pay for a physical therapist visit unless the patient has a physician referral. LSU First/WebTPA and Blue Cross Blue Shield will pay for direct access physical therapist visits and do not need a referral.

How do I make an appointment?

Call 318-813-2970 to inquire about your particular situation. A referral from a physician or other healthcare provider may be required. Other information that will expedite the process is a copy of your insurance card (front and back).

Appointment requests, referrals and insurance information can be faxed directly to us at:

318-524-7417 for PT and OT services
318-703-5147 for Speech, Language, and Audiology services
318-703-6538 for Children’s Center services

Once we have this information, our billing office will verify your insurance coverage and notify you if any co-payments, co-insurances, or deductibles that apply. A member of our team will then call you to schedule your initial evaluation appointment.
